The pitoresque old town Planes de Baronia
has deep Moorish roots, and the village’s medieval past is still visible in the remains of its hilltop castle. Today, only parts of the old fortress stand, but the short walk up offers a glimpse into its history and beautiful views over the surrounding almond-filled valley.
